You do love Dan Bejar. You're like his #1 fan or something.

I'm afraid that honour goes to my friend [info]badspelling, who contemplated putting Rubies as his first, second, and third album of the year.

I'd say!
Also, I am proud to say that ONE of the shows we saw together made your Hits list. Yours forever, Juana Molina and Jose Gonzales.

oh shit! I forgot the Fiery Furnaces!

Am I allowed to put the Jibes show on there? I think not.

I think it would be a shame if you didn't put the Jibes show in there. Your tambourine (it was a tambourine, right?) playing was totally nuts!

I really do love Rubies though, you're right. for some reason it made everything else seem shit this year.

there's so much here to comment on, I don't know where to start...

I didn't get meek warrior, yellow house or he poos clouds at all. in fact, I was greatly disappointed by all of them. I wish I'd have seen the shows you went to this year. I do have a few that I remember well: Animal Collective, iLiKETRAiNS and The Shins but mostly bands have disappointed me recently, plus I have tinitus now and that makes live shows kinda like russian roulette.

how is it that you live in london and can be jealous of the shows I saw in vancouver?

I'm also tremendously surprised that meek warrior, yellow house, and he poos clouds didn't take with you. though, in the case of akron and final fantasy, it was the live show that sold me. grizzly bear are better on record than live.

tinnitus? for real? how serious?

Nice, there's lot that I really like here and more that I need to get around to listening to (or listen to again, like that Grizzly Bear one). The Akron/Family show was one of my favourites.

Was that Oneida show last year? I thought it was in January or February. Anyway, it was better than the one at the Red Room.
